Mother and Child Skeletons Wrapped in Clothes in West Bandung, Here are 4 Facts

Residents of the Tani Mulya Indah Complex, RT 11/RW 15, Tanimulya Village, Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency, were shocked by the discovery of human skeletons in their house on Monday (7/29/2024). It is suspected that the two skeletons belong to the mother and child who lived there. Let's delve into the following facts summarized by detikJabar.

1. Skeletons Found by Husband/Father of Homeowner

The two skeletons are suspected to be mother and child, Iguh Indah Hayati (55) and Elia Imanuel Putra (24). The skeletons of both were initially found by Mudjoyo Tjandra, Indah's husband and local resident, at around 14.00 WIB. At that time, the eyewitness asked residents for help to open the padlock on the fence of the house which was in an abandoned condition.

Grass was seen growing tall in front of the house. Additionally, the purple walls of the house were faded and dull with dust. Moreover, the wood on the roof of the house had rotted away with time.

"So, this was found by her husband, he had reported to residents to open the padlock on the house. Initially, he wanted to take something he said inside," said Padalarang Police Chief, AKP Kusmawan when met at the scene, Monday (7/29/2024).

2. Clothes Still Wrapping Two Skeletons on the Bed

The discovery of Indah and Elia dead as skeletons with clothes still wrapped around them caused shock to those who entered the house. However, the exact time of their death remains uncertain pending forensic results.

Kusmawan mentioned that Indah and Elia lived alone after her husband, Mudjoyo, left them in 2018.

3. Neighbors Think the House is No Longer Occupied

Local residents were unaware that the neglected purple house, overgrown with plants, was still inhabited. The neighbors did not realize that two people were living there, as both never left the house.

One neighbor, Ai Suryati (54), who lived two houses away from Indah, last saw her before the COVID-19 pandemic, around 2019. They didn’t have much interaction during their last meeting.

"It's been a long time here. It's just that the house is for sale, there was a notice too. There were some who asked, contacted their number but they said it was inactive. They don't have any relatives here anymore," said Ai.

4. Skeletons Will Be Identified by Officers

The skeletons of Indah and Elia were evacuated by the Inafis Team of the Cimahi Police Criminal Investigation Unit. However, the skeletons were first handed over to the family. Subsequently, the remains were taken to Sartika Asih Hospital for further identification.
